Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been given Y security by central agencies after receiving threats over her recent spat with Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut.

(This is proof that no fascist will be able to crush a patriotic voice, I am thankful to @AmitShah ji, because of the circumstances, he would advise me to go to Mumbai after a few days, but he kept the words of a daughter of India, respected our self-respect. Jai Hind.)

This comes after Ranaut's father wrote to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to provide security for Ranaut's safety.

Y category is a security detail of 11 personnel, including 1 or 2 commandos and police personnel.

However, Twitter users mocked the Centre for issuing security to an actress by wasting taxpayers’ money. Here are some epic reactions.

The war of words between Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut took a fresh turn with the latter stating that the leader doesn't represent entire Maharashtra while confirming that she will return to Mumbai on September 9.

Accusing Raut of "empowering those who exploit women" in the country, the Bollywood actor said that the daughters of India will never forgive him for his alleged abusive statement.

"Sanjay Raut ji, you called me 'haramkhor.' It shows your mindset...If I criticise Mumbai Police or if I criticise you, then you can't say I am insulting Maharashtra. You are not Maharashtra. Your people are threatening me, still, I will come to Mumbai on September 9," Ranaut says in the video she put out on her official Twitter handle.

"Your people are saying they will break my jaw, they will kill me. Kill me, but this country's soil is enriched with the blood of those who sacrificed for its dignity and we too will do the same," she added.

Ranaut also raised the issue of "inaction" by Mumbai Police during the Palghar lynching, and it refusing to register a case on the request of the father of actor Sushant Singh Rajput's in connection with his death, to state why she had turned out to be its critic.

As the news headlined across news media outlets, Raut took to social media and issued a statement by writing, “Shiv Sena follows the ideology of great Hindutva icons Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Great Maharana Pratap. They have taught us to respect women. But some with malicious intent are spreading misinformation that Shiv Sena has insulted women. But one should not forget the fact that those making these allegations have themselves insulted Mumbai and out deity Mumba Devi. Shiv Sena will continue to fight for the pride of women, this is what our great Shiv Sena Supremo has taught us...”
