Indian politician, Shashi Tharoor who is known for his extremely sharp vocabulary had recently taken to Twitter to post an image to celebrate World Tourism Day by inviting people to his 'native land', Kerala, which is famously known as, 'God's own country'. The post displays a beautiful image of the state celebrating its harvest festival, Onam.
At a first glance, it did not seem like something was wrong, but later netizens pointed out at that calling people to Kerala right when everything was closed due to the 'Bharat Bandh', made no sense. The politician received a few sarcastic replies with regards to this.
Was Shashi not aware about the fact that Kerala is participating in the 'Bharat Bandh' today to show its solidarity for the nationwide farmers' strike calling for the abolition of farm laws? Well, seems like he wasn't, according to Twitter users.
Have a look at how people reacted to the post:

If people come to Kerala on a day of strike like today, they will be stuck at the airport or railway/bus station. Political parties including @INCIndia have been willing participants in these strikes over the years. First stop these hartals to make Kerala a better tourism hub.— Arjun Soman (@niveshkaarjun) September 27, 2021
And it's Kerala's own Hartal Festival #BharathBandh and the streets r empty, shops and establishments closed down supported by LDF Govt and opposition UDF. Shashi is always Sasi.— Krish RK (@Krish9) September 27, 2021
Even though the post received quite a few sarcastic replies, there were others who appreciated the leader spreading the word about their state, encouraging more tourism, which seemed to them as a great gesture. So, some of the users were seen joining Tharoor, inviting people to come to the state.
