#Binod: Paytm, Tinder and others join Twitter's new meme trend - check out the best ones here

On Saturday, the hashtag 'Binod' made its way to the Twitter trends as the micro-blogging site flooded with memes and jokes about the new viral sensation. Paytm changed its official handle's name to Binod, while, Tinder, and Mumbai Police were among the others who shared chuckle evoking jokes. As avid Twitter users plunged into the trend, several others wondered who exactly the viral meme trend was about.

For the unversed, Binod is a YouTube user who has commented his name on several videos on the streaming app. Earlier in July, a channel named Slayy Point posted a video titled, 'Why Indian Comments Section is Garbage (BINOD)'. In the video, as the creators were going through the comments section of videos, they came across a user named Binod Tharu, who just dropped his name in the comments section. Soon, others picked up the trend and it eventually triggered a meme fest on Twitter.

A netizen challenged mobile payments and commerce platform Paytm to change its official name to Binod and the company accepted it.

Meanwhile, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Uttar Pradesh police departments used the hashtag to share advisories.

Mumbai police tweeted: "Dear #binod , we hope your name is not your online password. It’s pretty viral, change it now! #OnlineSafety."

"#Binod might not write anything else, but we do have a message for you," wrote Uttar Pradesh Police as they urged their followers to wear masks.

Nagpur Police's tweet read: "Dear #binod, we know you have gone very viral, But your safety is important. corona is more famous than you so stay home, stay safe."

Dating app Tinder wrote, "Yes Binod is on Tinder."

"Update - Binod just matched with Binodini. Binod just messaged her saying 'naam toh suna hi hoga,'" they added.
