Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Sanja Lokotsav, 2021 began in the Sankul Hall of Kalidas Sanskrit Academy on Sunday. In the morning the aarti of Mother Kshipra was performed while a research symposium was organised in the afternoon.
Publicity secretary of the organisation Dr Dharmendra Singh paid the floral tributes to the founder member of the organisation, Gulab Singh Yadav. The programme started with Deep Deepan.
Welcome address and programme outline in the seminar was given by Dr Pallavi Kishan, director of the institution. Dr Srinivas Shukla, Saras Sidhi, Dr Puran Sehgal Manas, professor Shailendra Kumar Sharma, Maya Badheka, Bangalore were present on the stage as guests and Dr Shiv Chaurasia as the chairman of the programme. Dr Sharad Chandra Shukla from Oslo Norway joined online. The programme was conducted by Dr Jagdish Chandra Sharma.
The chief guest of a cultural event held in the evening was Paras Chandra Jain, MLA Ujjain North and Prof Balkrishna Sharma, ex-vice-chancellor of Vikram University, presided over. Inder Singh Bains, a well-known music teacher of Malwa, was awarded the Pratikalpa Shikhar Samman for 2020 for his extraordinary contribution to the field of folk arts.
The evening started with the performance of Sanja dance form under the choreography of Dr Pallavi Kishan by the artists of Pratikalpa. Meghavi Sharma, Jhanvi Tailang, Isha Vyas, Raveena Parmar, Ishika Rai, Jayavi Vyas, Kashish Malik, Sakshi Chandrayan, Suhani Rajput, Anoushka Malviya, Anoushka Solanki and Pahal Upadhyay performed on stage. After this, a march named Sudbud Salanga was presented by the artists of Shri Hindu Vishram Mach Mandal Mendakwas, district Indore. The organisers of the programme were Sudhir Sankhla and Babulal Deora Chikliwale. Vaishali Shukla compeered the programme.
Documentation of world famous handicraft of Malwa Bhairavgarh print will be done in the Bhairavgarh area under Sanja Lokotsav on Monday.
