Days after India skipper Rohit Sharma tested COVID-19 positive, the question persists as to who will captain the team in the rescheduled fifth Test and former spinner Harbhajan Singh seems to have found a suitable replacement.
The one-off Test against India, a part of last year's five-match series, which was abandoned due to a COVID-19 outbreak, will begin at Edgbaston on Friday.
The BCCI on Monday confirmed that opener Mayank Agarwal has been added to the Test squad ahead of the rescheduled Edgbaston Test against England as a cover for captain Rohit.
The World Cup-winning tweaker was reacting to a tweet by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
“Who could take charge of India should Rohit Sharma miss the all-important Test against England?” the global cricket board tweeted.
Harbhajan took to the comment section and replied: “Jasprit Bumrah.”
