A day after India captain Rohit Sharma tested positive for COVID-19, the BCCI advised players in England to limit their public appearances and hangouts and stay indoors, but the directives seemed to have fallen on the deaf ear of former skipper Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.
On the last day of the practice match between India and Leicestershire on Sunday, Pant was seen flouting the Covid rules set for Indian players. The southpaw was seen posing for pictures with a section of fans.
After Pant, Kohli too broke the rules as he was seen interacting with fans after arriving in Birmingham for the rescheduled 5th Test.
A picture of him posing with fans made the rounds on social media.
Fans reacted furiously over the pictures with some calling Kohli 'irresposible'
"Chal kya raha hai. Bubble nahi hai toh sab Covid lekar hi maanenge?" one user tweeted.
Another fan tweeted: "Yrr Kyu kr rhe h aisa Pure Country ko panic kr rkha h phir bhi pics krwa rhe h...I guess Virat should me Bit more Responsible Here."
In another picture doing the rounds of social media, members of Team India—Kohli, Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Shubhman Gill, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini and Kamlesh Nagarkoti were seen dining in a restaurant in Birmingham despite the Covid threats.
