Burhanpur (Madhya Pradesh): Imtiaz Khan, the mastermind and prime suspect in Pipri Borban pond scam, was questioned before sub divisional magistrate Shailendra Solanki for 2 hours on Tuesday.

Investigation is on for almost a month in the case that involves misappropriation of Rs 42 lakh in land acquisition for Pipri Borbon pond, which comes under Khaknar tehsil in Nepanagar assembly constituency of Burhanpur district.

In his statement, Imtiaz blamed former Land Acquisition Officer Visha Madhvani as the main mastermind and said all the deals were made from her bungalow as she handled the whole matter.

He said 90 per cent role was played by Madhvani and bank officials while only 10 per cent of other people are involved in the case.

“Visha Madhvani misused my Aadhaar card and bought stamps on my behalf. I have not signed on stamp vendor's register. I will soon place evidence before media and will reveal everything,” Imtiaz added.

The complaint regarding compensation of land falling under the submergence area of the pond was made by Burhanpur RTI activist Dr Anand Dixit to collector. The matter is being investigated by Nepanagar SDM and Tehsildar Sanjay Waghmare.

When SDM Shailendra Singh Solanki was contacted, he said everyone's statements have been recorded. On the basis of statements, the inquiry report will be prepared and given to the collector.
