Nagda: Lions Club Nagda to give 5 awards for work in field of disability

Nagda (Madhya Pradesh): National Award for the permanent project of Lions Club of Nagda and the National Award for the best organisation of the country working for the empowerment and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, in the memory of its co-founder Late Lion Dr Naina Awards have been started.

Special Need Education Home (SNEH) founder Pankaj Maru said that excellent standards of work were set by Dr Naina in the field of disability through SNEH. There are many such trainers in various institutions working in the country, who have been working for years to connect the disabled with the mainstream of society through their excellent services, but the society and the country are not familiar with their work.

For this, five awards have been instituted for the best therapist, best special teacher, best institute, best social worker and best government officer working in this field. More than 70 entries were received from all over the country, which have been assessed by the jury based on various parameters and results have been declared.

Vaishali B Pai of Bangalore has been adjudged the Best Therapist, Chirag Upadhyay of Gandhinagar Best Special Educator, Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh has been adjudged Best Institution, Karthikeyan Ganesan of Villupuram Tamil Nadu Best Social Worker and Ujjain District Collector Ashish Singh has been selected for the officer's award.

All the selected will be honoured with a citation, trophy and a cash prize of Rs 11,000 in a grand ceremony on the 14th foundation day of SNEH on July 10.

Indian Blind Cricket Team Captain Ajay Reddy from Bangalore under whose leadership India has won the Blind Cricket World Cup thrice will be the chief guest on the occasion.
