DHAR (MADHYA PRADESH): Members of Dhar district Youth Congress submitted a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, to an official in Dhar demanding action against owner of Sejway liquor factory and official concerned.
Recently, two foreign liquor factories, located in Barwaha of Khargone district and Sejway (Mhow) were raided by two IAS officers on the instructions of divisional commissioner, Dr Pawan Sharma. Large number of irregularities were found in both the factories. The Sejway factory has been sealed and an excise officer has been suspended.
Both the actions were carried out by two IAS officers on the complaints of illegal production of alcohol, transport and other complaints.
A team led by Mhow SDM Abhilash Mishra raided Great Galen Ventures Limited in Sejway Mhow. While Kasrawad SDM Sangh Priya Goutam carried out the action in Barwah. Details of the action in Barwah were not available till late night.
In Sejway the officials found that liquor is loaded in 6 trucks, but the unit failed to furnish any permits and demand notes against the same. The trucks were loaded with whiskey bottles bearing stickers-labels mentioning only the month of manufacture, while in regular stock the exact date of manufacturing was mentioned.
Citing the hooch tragedy which took place in Morena, Ujjain, Tikamgarh and many districts of Madhya Pradesh and that claimed many lives, Youth Congress raised question over why no action has been taken against top excise officials or the factory owner.
Meanwhile, on the basis of large number of irregularities found in liquor factory Great Galen Ventures Limited Sejway (District Dhar) district Excise Officer RK Gupta was suspended. He also in-charge of Distillery.
