Ratlam: Ratlam City Congress members on Saturday staged a demonstration at the collector office here demanding the availability of an adequate number of vaccination doses, increasing the number of the vaccination centres, and streamlining the vaccination centers arrangements.

They submitted a memo addressed to President of India to SDM Ratlam city Abhishek Gehlot.

In an statement issued by city Congress president Mahendra Kataria alleged that on the first day of vaccination Maha-Abhiyan when vaccination centers were set up in all the 49 wards of the city. However, the system has collapsed since then.

Kataria said that city people including senior citizens were now coming forward to get vaccinated but they were being disappointed after June 21 due to the non-availability of vaccination doses and the reduction in the number of centers. He alleged that for taking political benefits, BJP leaders were also seen at the vaccination centers on the very first day of Mahaabhiyan on June 21 but later they were also missing.

City Congress President Kataria alleged that the present scenario is that people gather at the vaccination centers only to return without getting vaccinated. He alleged that chaos like situation prevails due to improper management and police had to manage the system.

Kataria demanded that not only vaccination centers should be increased but the availability of the doses must be increased substantially so that people did not return without vaccination after hours of wait. Congress leaders Mahendra Kataria, Yasmin Sherani, Rajiv Rawat, Rajnikant Vyas, Kamruddin Kachwaha, Vijay Singh Chouhan, and others submitted the memorandum.
