Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In all, 150 random samples will be sent to National Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC), New Delhi, every 15 days from state for detection of Delta Plus, Alpha and Delta Covid variants.
State health commissioner Akash Tripathi has issued directive to all District Surveillance Officers in this regard. Nineteen RTPCR labs and two private labs have been notified for samples collection and then randomly samples will be picked up and sent to NCDC, New Delhi.
Eight Delta Plus cases have been reported while 60 alpha variants and 334 delta variants have been reported. As for alpha variants, 30 are from Indore, 17 from Bhopal, nine from Gwalior, three from Vidisha and one from Raisen.
As for Delta variants, Bhopal contributed 120 cases while Indore contributed 44 cases. About 37 are from Gwalior. Ujjain contributed 28 cases and Ratlam contributed 25. Datia, Vidisha and Raisen contributed 24, 18 and 6 cases respectively.
Sagar, Betul, Tikamgarh contributed five cases each while Hoshangabad and Sehore contributed two each and Morena, Chhattarpur and Agar-Malwa contributed one case each.
