MANDSAUR (MADHYA PRADESH): Social worker Sunil Bansal has accused Mandsaur municipality of misusing tax-payers money. Bansal issued an statement alleging that the selfie zone, paver blocks and cement chairs installed in front of the District Hospital have been damaged by the contractor, who is tasked with the drainage work on the same spot.

The municipality has turned a blind eye to the damage and the civic body is misusing the hard-earned money of the public. He demanded district collector and the local public representatives that this amount should be recovered from the concerned engineer of the civic body and the contractor. Strict action should be taken against the engineer so that they do not commit such mistake in future.

He said that municipality issued tender for drainage work just before monsoon season even though this work was approved long back and concerned authority should have utilised lock-down period for the construction. The work which is underway now will disturb public activities here.

Now when the business activities are inching back to normalcy, the construction activities will cause blockage of traffic and loss of business, he added.
