Indore: Miscreants stole Rs 1.30 lakh from an ATM booth in Juni Indore area. This is the third such incident of theft from an ATM in the last fortnight. The manager of the bank has reported the matter on Wednesday and a case was registered against an unidentified persons.
Police believe that the same gang is involved in all three ATM theft. The two other thefts took place in Rajendra Nagar and Sarafa area.
Juni Indore police station in-charge RNS Bhadoriya said that complainant Vijay Soni, branch manager of SBI, Palsikar Colony branch lodged a complaint that an unidentified person has stolen Rs 1.30 lakh from the cash deposit machine. The accused used a debit card and put it in the ATM to steal cash. When the machine was processing, the accused somehow managed to manipulate the machine and steal money from it. Surprisingly, the man did about a dozen transactions and stole money from the booth.
A few days ago, a similar incident took place in an ATM in Rajendra Nagar area. The accused had stolen lakhs by doing 21 transactions in the machine. After two days, another incident was reported at Sarafa police station. Unidentified persons had stolen cash from the ATM booth of a bank on PY Road.
Interestingly, most of the transactions were done in the morning so that no one could doubt the accused. In the incident at Sarafa, the accused were wearing caps so that their faces were not clear in the CCTV. An accused captured in the CCTV installed in the ATM booth in Palsikar Colony was also wearing a cap. The police believed that an expert gang is behind these crimes.
TI Bhadoriya said that a case has been registered under the relevant section and the investigation is being done in the case. The CCTVs installed outside the ATM booth are also being examined.
