Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An associate professor of IIT Indore, his wife and his elder son got injured after their SUV fell into the ditch after being hit by a passenger bus in the Simrol area, police said on Wednesday. Police said that the bus recklessly overtook a vehicle and later hit the SUV from the opposite side due to which the SUV fell in the ditch. A case has been registered against the bus driver and a search is on for him.
DSP (Headquarters) Umakant Chowdhary said that the incident took place on the curve near Baba Choupati Dhaba in Simrol around 5.30 pm on Tuesday. Sanjram Khadanka, a resident of Silver Spring Township is an associate professor in IIT Indore. Khadanka along with his wife Lalita and two sons had gone for a picnic at Chidiya Bhadak. While returning from there, a passenger bus recklessly overtook a vehicle and hit the SUV of Khadanka due to which the SUV fell into the ditch and he, his wife and a son got injured. After hitting the SUV, the bus rammed into the divider. Some passengers of the bus also received minor injuries in the accident.
Sunil Kumar, PRO IIT Indore, informed Free Press that after being hit by the bus, the SUV fell into the ditch. No one received a major injury in the accident as all six airbags opened after the accident. Sanjram received a head injury but his condition is stated to be out of danger. He, wife and his son are undergoing treatment in a city hospital.
