Kukshi (Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh): The local administration launched drive to clean Baghini river on Friday. A JCB was deployed to desilt the banks of river.
However, the drive has come under scathing attack as only bushes and garbage were removed. “Sincere efforts are needed. What is being done is an eyewash,” said social worker Someshwar Patidar.
Patidar who took a pledge to make Baghini river, a tributary of Narmada, clean, said his objective will be achieved soon with cooperation of all the local residents.
On the orders of SDM Vivek Kumar, the river was cleaned along the banks. “Hope administration takes cleaning of river seriously,” a local resident added.
