Speaking at an election campaign in Burrabazar area under Kolkata (Uttar) Lok Sabha constituency, Mamata said that she cannot attend I.N.D.I.A bloc meeting on June 1 as the seventh phase of election will take place in the state on the same day.
“On one side the election and on the other side the cyclone. I am campaigning here as elections are still going on but my heart is there with those who are badly affected due to cyclone Remal. In UP and Bihar there is also election on June 1. So, I said I cannot go to attend the meeting due to the elections,” said Mamata.

The Chief Minister once again ups her ante for the seven phases of election and in West Bengal and said that the maximum number of central forces are deployed in Bengal.
“You know that we (TMC) can defeat BJP for which maximum number of forces are given here. In the first phase only four constituencies went for the polls. There could have been 24 constituencies on the same day. If 40 constituencies of Tamil Nadu can go for polls on a single day then why can’t Bengal? Election Commission is following BJP’s instruction,” further added the Trinamool Congress (TMC) Supremo.

Slamming the saffron camp the West Bengal Chief Minister mentioned, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Kolkata for some programmes and BJP is giving advertisements saying he is the PM. He can come as BJP president or leader. I didn’t write that I am Chief Minister while I am campaigning.”
