Popular Kannada actor Ajay Rao is facing turbulence in his personal life, with reports claiming that his wife, Sapna, has filed a complaint against him under the Domestic Violence Act. Their daughter is also said to have been named in the complaint. Further details about the case are yet to emerge.
According to several media reports, Sapna has lodged the complaint against Ajay Rao in a magistrate court under Section 12 of the Domestic Violence Act.
In 2024, Ajay and Sapna had moved into their new home near Yelahanka, Bengaluru. They had celebrated the housewarming ceremony with several prominent figures from the Kannada film industry in attendance.
However, soon after this happy occasion, reports of trouble in their marriage surfaced. Reports of a rift in their relationship have been circulating on the internet, however, neither the actor nor his wife has officially commented on the issue yet.
Ajay Rao and Sapna, who married after dating for several years, tied the knot on December 18, 2014, in Hosapete, Karnataka, in the presence of family and close friends. The couple welcomed their daughter in 2019.
Ajay Rao entered the Kannada film industry as a lead actor in 2003 with the movie Excuse Me. Before that, he appeared in a supporting role in Sudeep’s Kiccha. Over the years, he has acted in several successful films including Taj Mahal, Prem Kahani, Krishnan Love Story, Krishnan Marriage Story, and Krishna-Leela.
Earlier this year, he not only acted in but also produced the film Yuddha Kaanda 2.
