After a successful year at the Indian box office, Alia Bhatt is all set to mark her Hollywood debut with Gal Gadot's 'Heart of Stone'.
In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Alia opened up on shooting for the Hollywood actioner with a baby inside her. She shared that in the initial months, she could not let others know about her pregnancy as she believed one is not supposed to talk about it for the first 12 weeks.
"I don’t believe in limiting myself unless there’s some physical limitation. I was pregnant, so yes, there was scope for many limitations, as pregnancy is unpredictable," she stated.
Took one day at a time: Alia
Alia revealed that her mantra was to take it one day at a time and listen to her body. She averred that while work was important for her, her baby was her priority.
"Touchwood, my pregnancy didn’t hold me back physically. Yes, the first few weeks were slightly difficult as I had major exhaustion and nausea, but at that time, I didn’t talk about it because you are not supposed to say anything for the first 12 weeks, right? That’s what everybody says, so I had to keep that information to myself," she said.
"I managed to shoot my first action film while I was pregnant! That is a story I will tell for years because it also makes you realise how much your body is capable of if you just put your mind to it," she added.
Alia and Ranbir's baby girl
Alia and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot in April 2022 and in November 2022, they welcomed their first child, a daughter whom they named Raha Kapoor.
The couple recently celebrated their first Christmas and New Year as a married couple and new parents.
Alia Bhatt's upcoming projects
In Bollywood, Alia will be next seen in Karan Johar's directorial 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani', set to release this year.
Besides, she also has Farhan Akhtar's 'Jee Le Zaraa' in the pipeline along with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Katrina Kaif.
As for her Hollywood debut 'Heart of Stone', helmed by Tom Harper, the film is intended to be the first installment in a series akin to Tom Cruise's 'Mission Impossible'.
The movie also stars Sophie Okonedo, Matthias Schweighofer, Jing Lusi, and Paul Ready in addition to Gal, Jamie Dornan, and Alia. The movie is slated to release on Netflix in 2023.
