Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Katni police have sent the video to the regional forensic lab in Bhopal to check and verify the alleged slogans raised after Rayeesa Begum won election as sarpanch of Chaka gram panchayat, police said on Monday.
A video went viral on social media of alleged pro-Pakistan slogan being raised reportedly during celebrations to mark victory of a Muslim woman candidate in Friday's village panchayat polls in Katni district.
A group of residents from Chaka village gathered outside Kuthla police station of Katni district on Saturday, alleging that the slogan, Pakistan Zindabad, was raised during celebrations to mark the victory of Rayeesa Begum as sarpanch of Chaka gram panchayat sarpanch.
City superintendent of police Vijay Pratap Singh said the video had been sent to Bhopal RFSL for the certification. “This is because whatever slogans were raised sound mixed with other voices. The name of Rayeesa’s husband is Majid Khan. And amidst sloganeering, the word Pakistan can be heard. So, we have decided to take help from experts to extract the reality of video,” he added.
A group of people claimed that pro-Pakistan slogans were raised and police should take action against newly elected sarpanch.
