Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 15-year-old girl living with her mother committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her house, Kolar police said on Wednesday.
Police station incharge told media that the victim Hiya Verma, daughter of Hitesh Verma, was a student of 10th standard. She lived with her mother in Sankheri area. The mother of the victim is an employee of a dental college. Both husband and wife live separately. Hitesh lives in Nehru Nagar and he is a staffer of an insurance company.
The police added that Hiya’s mother talked to her at around 8 pm on her mobile phone. When she did not pick up the phone at around 8.20 pm, she rushed home to find the girl hanging.
The matter was reported to the police and they recovered the body and sent for post-mortem. Hiya’s body was handed over to the family members after that. Police have registered a case and have begun probe into the matter.
The reason of suicide is not yet established. Police have seized the Hiya's mobile phone and have sent it for examination.
