A viral video from Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli has surfaced online showing a woman carrying her differently-abled husband on her back to the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) office at the district hospital, seeking a disability certificate. It was reported that she had to walk all her way carrying her partner on her shoulders because she couldn’t afford other means of transport.
The clip doing the rounds on social media, exposing the stark reality of the state’s healthcare system. Visuals showed the wife reaching the CMO office carrying her husband on her back. News1 India reported lack of money forced the woman to carry him by herself. It was learned no health department employee interfered or helped her, and neither did other people come to support her.

People seated at the entrance of a hospital unit didn't bother to assist her. Several men were seated on the ground merely watching the woman painstakingly walking towards the CMO office.
The couple reached the office to procure a disability certificate for the man.
X users demand investigation over healthcare facilities
While some reports claimed there were no wheelchair facilities or stretchers to facilitate divyang patients at the district hospital, others claimed the couple couldn't afford them.
The incident has slammed the UP government for improper facilities and healthcare services for the people of the state. X users asked the authorities to look into the matter and launch an investigation.
