A CCTV footage from Kolkata's running metro train goes viral on social media, it shows one of the passengers defacing door of the metro while spraying a black paint on it. While other passengers keep looking at the scene without intervening. Theh man can be seen spraying abruptly on the metro gate and left the metro.

Kolkata: A CCTV footage from Kolkata's running metro train goes viral on social media, it shows one of the passengers defacing door of the metro while spraying a black paint on it. While other passengers keep looking at the scene without intervening. Theh man can be seen spraying abruptly on the metro gate and left the metro. Metro authorities and police are searching for the man and trying to identify him on the basis of CCTV footage.

The incident occured on the blue line of the metro network in Kolkata. When the metro rake no. MR-409 was mid-way, the man pulled out a spray paint bottle from his bag and sprayed it on the closed door of the coach no. 4036. The CCTV footage of the incident has been surfaced on the Internet sparking outrage from the netizens.

Statement of Metro Railway Kolkata

Reportedly, Metro Railway Kolkata issued a statement on Wednesday which said, "It has been observed that Door No.5 of Coach No. 4036 of a Metro rake (MR-409) operated on Blue Line has been defaced recently with black spray paint by a commuter. Such an act has caused damage to the aesthetic look of the coach." It has hurt the sentiment of Metro users, the statement said and urged all to refrain from repeating this incident."

It further adds, "With the help of CCTV cameras installed in the rakes and stations, such activities can be recorded easily and offenders can be identified. Legal action will be initiated against any person found to be engaged in such activities."

Offender Yet To Be Identified

Police officials and metro authorities could not identify the offender yet and the search operations are still going on. However, metro authorities have strictly restrain its passengers to not get engaged in such activities.
