Mumbai, July 22: A video has surfaced on social media in which it can be seen that employees are seen dancing on a Telugu song to welcome a foreign client. The viral video has sparked an online debate as few internet users are calling the event a "celebration" and others are criticising it saying that it is "corporate chaprification". Few users are raising questions over the staff performance, consisting mostly of women, and calling it "corporate slavery".
The video shows that the employees are dancing to Pawan Kalyan starrer Telugu song 'Killi Killi' as soon as the foreign client enters the office. One of the employees also performs solo on 'Main Tera Boyfriend' song from Sushant Singh Rajput's 'Raabta'. The client watches the performance in excitement and eventually joins in. He could not resist and shakes a leg to the beat. The viewers see the gesture as a warm display of hospitality and team bonding, while others are calling it unprofessional, forced and even demeaning.
The video has been shared on social media platform X account @WokePandemic. The video was shared stating, "India should stop chaprification of corporate offices This is so pathetic to see Indian girls dancing in office an d welcoming a foreign client and the becahra client also forced to dance. Such showcasing will only make other countries feel Indian offices are causal and not worthy of serious work."
Another user also shared the video and said, "Corporate slavery? Dancing for the client visit." A user also said, "The first step is to stop calling people in a professional environment as Sir and Madam. Native English speakers seldom call someone else that at work, no matter how old they are. This “thanks for giving us work, we’re now your slaves” attitude should stop. Right now."
Netizens have also highlighted that such acts, even performed with good intentions, send the wrong message to international partners about the professional standards at workplaces in India.
