In a shocking incident reported from Janjgir in Chhattisgarh, a 19-year-old female content creator named Ankur Nath died by suicide during live streaming on social media.
Teen dies live on Instagram
Ankur was live on Instagram on December 29 when she hung herself in front of her followers watching her on their phones. It was learned that a few followers rushed to her location to save her, but they found her dead by the time they reached her residence.
20+ followers watched her live streaming
While her Instagram account or the video couldn't be traced, reports stated that she was live on the social media platform when she recorded herself hanging to death. It was learned that 20+ followers watched her streaming video and a few rushed to her residence out of concern.
Ankur was identified as a resident of Misda village in Chhattisgarh, while her parents worked as daily wage labourers in Hyderabad.
Upon learning about the teen's death by suicide, the locals pointed out that Ankur would spend long hours on her mobile phone. They reportedly suspected a love affair or hateful comments being the reason behind her chilling decision to end her life.
Police investigation underway
The matter is now being investigated by the Nawagarh police, who revealed preliminary investigation has suggested she committed suicide due to a heartbreak in love.
Nawagarh police station in-charge Bhaskar Sharma informed the media that Ankur's mobile has been confiscated to facilitate investigation by the cyber cell. The teen's body has been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem, after which it would be handed over to her parents.
