Tata Power issues notices to BEST for clearing dues

Mumbai: Tata Power has warned Brihanmumbai Electric Supply Transport (BEST) to discontinue power supply from Tuesday if it fails to pay Rs 561.58 crore dues which was pending since the last five months. BEST is the only agency that has exclusive right to distribute power to South Mumbai. BEST purchases power from Tata Power, but since the undertaking has not paid since the last six months.

Now, Tata has asked BEST administration to pay the outstanding amount or they will discontinue the power supply from May 21. A notice has already been served to BEST.
