Bhayandar: A massive fire broke out at a prominent restaurant-cum-bar at Murdha village near Bhayandar during the early morning hours on Tuesday.
While there are no reports of any casualty as the eatery was closed, the entire restaurant is reported to have been gutted in the blaze. Furniture and goods worth lakhs of rupees was reduced to ashes.
According to the fire brigade personnel, the fire was reported from Aqua Garden, Bar and Restaurant at around 4:10 am on Tuesday. Four fire tenders immediately rushed to the spot and started fire fighting operations to douse the flames which had spread to most parts of the restaurant. It took the fire fighters nearly two hours to bring the flames under control.
“While preliminary investigations indicate an electric short circuit as the cause of fire, a detailed probe was on,” said chief fire officer Prakash Borade.
