Indore: Though there are more male voters in the state, female electorate will be playing a decisive role in at least 10 assembly constituencies in the forthcoming assembly elections. Out of 230 constituencies in MP, 10 are dominated by women voters. In other words, the number of female voters is more than the number of male voters in 10 constituencies.
The constituencies where women reign supreme are: Shahpura, Bichhiya, Niwas, Baihar, Paraswada, Balaghat, Barghat, Pansemal, Petlawad and Sailana. Except Paraswada and Balaghat, all the other constituencies are reserved for scheduled tribe candidates. Seven constituencies are in Mahakoshal and two in Malwa and one in Nimar region of the state.
Shahpura (Dindori district), Bichhiya (Mandla district), Niwas (Mandla district), Baihar (Balaghat district), Paraswada (Balaghat district), Balaghat, Barghat (Seoni district) are located in Mahakoshal region whereas Petlawad (Jhabua district) and Sailana (Ratlam district) are located in Malwa and Pansemal (Barwani district) is located in Nimar region.
Though these constituencies are dominated by women voters, both the BJP and Congress put together had fielded merely five women candidates from the seats in the last assembly elections. While Congress had fielded three candidates, including Ganga Bai from Shahpura, Madhu Bhagat from Baihar and Chandrabhaga Kirade from Pansemal, BJP had filed two candidates Nirmal Dilip Singh Bhuria from Petlawad and Sangeeta Charel from Sailana. Bhagat, Bhuria and Charel had registered victory in the elections.

1410 transgender voters in state
The state has a total 1,410 transgender voters. Besides, there are 50,826 service electorates. In total, there are total 2,40,76,693 female and 2,62,56,157 male voters. All put together the total number of voters in the state is 5,03,94,086.
Gender equation in Indore district
All nine seats in Indore district are dominated by male voters. In Indore-1 constituency, the number of male voters is 172011and female voters 156865 whereas in Indore-2 constituency the male voter figure stood at 173548 whereas women voters count was recorded as 160357.
As far as Indore-3 constituency is concerned, the male voters’ number is 95108 and that of female voters is 91949. In Indore-4, the male voters number is 125650 and that of female voters 121980. Similarly, in Indore-5 constituency, the number of male voters is 189433 and female voters is 178518.
In cantonment town, Mhow the number of male voters is 125919 and that of female voters read 118509. In Rau, 148418 male voters were registered and the female count was 139862. In Sanver, the male and female voters number is 127312 and 119160 respectively. In Depalpur, the number of male voters totalled 117043 and that of female voters was 109971.
