Youth jumps into Kshipra, rescued

Ujjain : A mentally challenged person jumped into the Kshipra at the Triveni Bridge on the Ujjain-Indore road on Tuesday but was saved by timely help from villagers.

Jiwan, son of Ishwerlal, resident of Moti Nagar near Shakkarvasa village reportedly jumped into the Kshipra from the culvert on the Triveni Ghat along with his bike. Some of the villagers who had been following Jiwan, after he escaped with the bike from the village saved him by jumping into the river.

Jiwan was fished out in time to save his life. The Nanakheda Police also reached the spot. The youth was said to be derelict and was peeved over his family, who had stopped him from riding the bike. No case was registered in the matter and the youth was let go by the police.
