Ujjain : A two-day workshop on climate change was held at the Savyasachi Vidyapeeth here on Wednesday. Chief Scientist Pradip Sharma, Scientist Environmental Planning & Coordination Organisation (EPCO), was the chief guest on the occasion.
Sharma in his address to students revealed the forest types and how they grow. Relating with the geographical and climatic features the students knew about the forestry of the state.
Sharma said we are born to live on the earth as we have nowhere to go, so pollution must be curbed. Principal Saikat Chanda presented a PPT in the inaugural ceremony, showing various wild life animals of the state. Chanda informed that, Sambhar, the State animal is on the verge of extinction and the reason is loss of habitat and change in environment.
Chief guest Sharma along with Rajendra Singh, Shekh Yamin, and Udairaj Pawar were felicitated on the occasion by the school.
Various interschool competitions were organised where St Paul School, Excellence School, and Model Higher Secondary School, Savyasachi Vidyapeeth got prizes. Rashmi Dixit conducted the proceedings and Anju Karpe proposed a vote of thanks.
