Ujjain : Overcast skies that heralded the weekend did not covert to rains to the city on Saturday along with cold winds running at 16 km/hr.
The wet weather had been forecast for the weekend. Cloudy weather is likely to continue till Sunday afternoon. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at around 17 degrees and 11 degrees Celsius, respectively. Saturday’s minimum temperature was 15 degrees Celsius. The sky was overcast for most of Friday, which kept the maximum temperature comparatively low at 28.5 degree Celsius. The overcast sky, three-degree fall in the maximum temperature over 24 hours and chilly winds made Saturday cold, a weather department official said.
Meanwhile, crops suffered a big damage at a number of villages located on the Dewas Road following unseasonal rains on Saturday afternoon. Reports from various parts of the district suggest that the weather conditions witnessed upheaval and by afternoon low to medium downpours were also occurred at many places.
