Ujjain: 8 pilgrims received injuries as a speeding bus scaled the speed breaker near Mahamritunjay Dwar located on Indore Road on Friday morning.
According to Nanakheda police, the bus of Ajanta Travels bearing registration number MP-41-MM-2727 was ferrying 60 pilgrims from Parbhani, Maharashtra.
Police said that the driver overlooked the speed breaker following which the bus scaled it in full speed; the bus was heading to Indore. In the incident the bus also got damaged and its wind screen glass got shattered.
Passengers: Taramati, Lakshmibai, Rukmini, Niketan, Ashamani, Namdev, Rajabai and Satyabhamabai received serious injuries. The injured were rushed to Madhav Nagar Hospital where they are undergoing treatment. The bus has been seized and the driver has been arrested.
