Blows exchanged between Ramsanehi sect and sanyasis of Nirmala akhara

Ujjain ; Troubles of land allotment or land possession does not seem to be ending as on Saturday disciples of Ramsanehi sect and sanyasis of Nirmala akhara clashed over taking possession of land piece.

Blows were exchanged between the both sides over installation of hoarding on the land piece allotted to Ramsanehi sect for the Simhastha mela. It is worth noting that District In-charge Minister Bhupendra Singh along with Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad President Narendra Giri had discussed with the authorities over the same issue two days back. Giri later had assured that a midway has been drawn out and now there is no issue.

But the Saturday incident of clash, near Narsing Ghat between the saints and sanyasis told a whole different story. At around 2.30 pm the altercation started between the supporters of Ramsanehi sect and Kashmira Singh of Nirmala akhara. Both the parties came face to face over installation of hoardings depicting saints of both parties. Both parties took objection over location of the hoarding and wanted to install the hoarding on the centre of land. The verbal abuse soon changed into blows, the incident could have turned gruesome, but Mahakal police was informed of the situation and reached the spot there by controlling the situation.

The disputed land piece identified as MK-24 of the Mahakal Zone is being claimed by both parties. The Ramsanehi were given possession of land piece on February 11, the sect was allotted land size of 32,500 square feet, for holding Annakshetra during the Simhastha mela. On the other hand Kashmira Singh claimed that the plot is being allotted to him traditionally from past Simhastha mela, and it his rightful spot. The trouble started to grow again but Mahant Amandip Singh of Nirmala akhara and Ramprasad Maharaj of Ramsanehi sect opted for discussion which ended in installation of hoarding of both parties. Another startling scenario was the absence of mela authorities from the scuffle which lasted around an hour. Not a single responsible authority including the zone and sector officers reached the spot to take stock of the condition.

Minister during the last visit had informed that the confusion over the plot number has raised the issue. It is said mela authorities are confused over MK-32 and MK-22 plot number. Prior to this the fair authorities had cancelled the allotment of MK-22. For present the holy men have settled, but uproar are certain without permanent solution.
