Rs 1 lakh stolen from scooter

Ujjain : Thieves today struck outside the Grand Hotel on the thickly populated Freeganj and fled with Rs 1 lakh after breaking open the boot space under the scooter seat, here on Thursday. Gowardhan Swarnkar, a of resident of Rishi Nagar, informed the Madhav Nagar police that he had withdrawn Rs 1 lakh from the Dewas Road branch of, State Bank of India and kept the money in the boot space of scooter which was to be deposited in another bank. On their way to the bank, they stopped at the Hotel Grand Tower located, UCO bank to undertake some transitions and parked the scooter outside the bank. The victim added that he went inside the bank after parking his scooter in front of the hotel. He said that when, he came out from the bank and found the glove box of the scooter broken and the money was stolen. He raised an alarm but to no avail. Later the victim lodged a complaint with Madhav Nagar police who registered an FIR and started the investigation.
