Ujjain : Office bearers and members of the Society for Press Club paid tribute to the departed soul of journalist Chandan Gupta who died of brain hemorrhage, at Press Club Hall here on Sunday. Journalists Help Fund was constituted to provide financial help to the media persons facing economical crisis.
Addressing the condolence meeting, senior journalist Arjun Chandel said that it was proved with the death of Chandan that media persons lived in stress. It creates great effect on their family life. There are media persons who earning very less and they are unable to make their livelihood. Newspaper Group should give them a salary which enables them to fulfill their needs. Journalist Sunil Jain said that media persons should keep care of their health. Nirukt Bhargava, Lalit Jain, Pushkaran Dubey and others addressed the condolence meeting.
President Vishal Hada said that they were trying to deal with hospitals to get 10 passes from each for media persons. Help would be sought from the government in case of serious diseases. A Journalists Help Fund has been constituted. Journalist Rahul Sharma agreed to deposit his month’s salary in the fund. Assistant Public Relations officer Sunil Verma said that he had worked for the welfare of media persons.
Secretary Lalit Jwel said they all got united to help the deceased media person, but they got defeated before the God’s will. Zila Panchayat Vice-president assured that two rooms would be reserved at the Press Club building. Vice-president Uday Chandel conducted the meeting. Pradeep Malviya, Sunil Magaria, Anand Nigam, Dharmendra Bhati, Jitendra Thakur, Ravi Sen and others were present.
