Ujjain : The Ujjain Photographers Community (UPC) has made arrangements to showcase the talents of local professional and ameteur photographers. To serve the purpose, a three-day unique exhibition, ‘Meghvarn-2014’, has been organised at the Kalidas Sanskrit Academy from Friday.
Informing it during a press conference at Press Club, here on Thursday, UPC patron and City ASP Rajesh Vyas said that 28 members of the organisation were deputed to take snaps during the seven Shravan-Bhadav month processions, including the royal procession, of the Lord Mahakal, which were taken out this year. “The beauty of the lord’s palanquin, the enthusiam of people and the noticed and unnoticed moments of these processions were clicked by the members as per their vision,” he said adding that two best photographs of each member will be displayed.
Well-known artist Akshay Ameria on the occasion informed that Rajesh Vyas had also united the professional and ameteur photographers of Indore during his posting there and had also organised different exhibitions. In Ujjain, it is a first effort forever to organise a grand exhibition. He said that the focus of the photography work was to catch the salient features of the Shravan month. “It would not only depict the creativity and artistic zest of the local photographers, but would prove a significicant step to help boosting the tourism,” he added. Divisional Commissioner Ravindra Pastore and IG V Madhukumar will inaugurate the exhibition on Friday at 4 pm. It will remain open till 8.30 pm. On August 30 and 31, the exhibition will remain open from 11 am to 8.30 pm.
