Ujjain : Divisional Commissioner Dr Ravindra Pastor avoided a recondite qauere at the stand up meeting held at Mahakal Zone of the Simhastha Fair, here on Monday.
DC Pastor dodged the issue of danger to Narsingh Ghat and the bridge, when asked by SP MS Verma and asked the officials of Public Works Department (PWD) and Water Resource Department (WRD) to come to the office, while the stand up is only held to clear the issue at the spot and clear any dispute between the departments. The Ghat and the bridge are facing structural threat as the Public Works Department has stopped the work of the bridge, citing the laxity of the each other and the engineers of both departments are abstaining to say concrete.
Also the WRD and PHED also came to clash over issue of laying supply pipelines below the bridge. The PHED had told that due to non permission of PWD they are unable to start the work. EE PWD Shobha Khanna said if they will allow the PHED to start work their work will be stopped and vice versa. Khanna after meeting with the DC said no concrete solution could be made one of the agencies would have to sacrifice a whole month of the work.
On Monday, the officer also made it clear that the controversial land allotment related to Shankaracharyas will be made according to the allotments made in Simhastha fair of 2004. The officials appointed at zone offices of the Simhastha fair and of that of the other departments are clearly exasperated with the regular annoyance and the mounting of pressure has come with health problems for some of them. Whispers of the red tapism by the senior officials and arbitraries are also not far away in the Simhastha fair staff.
The Rudra Sagar where the camps of Shankaracharyas and other pontiffs are erected was given priority in the visit and the focus was laid on separate transit routes for the saints and common public to avoid clash. Still, wavering looms over the decision of the Shanakaracharya as they are yet to the see the Rudra Sagar which now has become a furnished pond, ready to be filled with fresh water.
ADM Avadhesh Sharma and Deputy Director PRO Pankaj Mittal were directed to search for appropriate spots for erecting press and media hubs at Ramghat and Dutt Akhada Ghat. The control room of the police department of the Simhastha fair area will be constructed at the Ranoji Ki Chhatri where discontent between the officials also came out over accommodating other officials in the Simhastha, in the control room. DIG Rakesh Gupta had to come in support of the SP MS Verma, detailing the plan and said possibilities have been chalked out and will be made.
Collector Kavindra Kiyawat who is known for his strict attitude expressed dissent over issue of meat shops in the vicinity of Mahakal temple and said out of 22 sellers only one has got the license and have extended their paraphernalia up to roads, while officers are sitting squats. A Sanchi milk kiosk owner also faced his ire when found selling everything at his shop except Sanchi products, he directed officers to remove his shop from the Harsiddhi square. Chairman Simhastha Fair Authority Divakar Natu, IG V Madhukumar, DIG Rakesh Gupta, fair officer Avinash Lavania and others were present.
