Ujjain : The State government bowed to the critics over shallow decision of organising the meeting of local committee at Bhopal, as on Monday Minister of State Cultural Department Surendra Patwa announced that the meeting of local organising committee will be held in Ujjain.
An official order for the same trickled down to the local committee members on Tuesday saying, the local committee meeting will be held on October 29, at the Abhirang Natyagrah, Kalidasa Academy. The Principal Secretary for cultural department Manoj Shrivastava will preside over the meeting. The cultural department and higher authorities had faced sharp critique after the announcement of local organising committee meeting at Bhopal, in which around 101 members would have reached Bhopal to attend the meeting on October 30.
Almost all senior members of the local committee had raised voice of opposition in unison, saying the function is to be held here, why the local members should go to Bhopal to participate the meeting. According to sources the cultural department practicing laxity had called the local committee to Bhopal, so as the Central Organising Committee could have also finalised their issues. Now the meeting of central committee is called on October 30, at Swaraj Bhawan Bhopal.
