MPEB employees hold protest

Ujjain : Members of the local unit of the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board Employees’ (MPEB) Union held a protest in front of the Jyoti Nagar office of the electrical division on Friday.The protesters held a Dharna in support of their demands.

More than 300 employees gathered on the occasion to protest against the illegal and adherent transfers made by the superintendent engineer. The agitating employees said the divisional superintendent engineer Ram Kumar Sharma had made partial transfers of senior and about to retire employees to distant and far flung areas in the district. One of the employees alleged that such decisions were taken knowingly by the officials so as senior workers will refuse to go in distant areas and employees of DISCOM will be forced there. Employees also alleged that money has also been demanded by the officials for not transferring the junior level employees in distant areas of the district.The agitating employees also submitted a memorandum to the Executive Engineer.
