Ujjain : Lord Mahakal will pay a visit to the city to meet his faithfuls, here on Monday. The first Shravan month palanquin procession of the deity will be taken out with full zeal and enthusiasm. District administration has made all requisite arrangements to ensure successful organisation of the procession.
After the holy month of Shravan was begun on Saturday, Lord Mahakal will visit his citizens on the first Monday of Shravan. Lord Mahakal in the replica of Lord Manmahesh will preside in the silver palanquin. Procession will move from the Mahakaleshwar Temple at 4 pm after worship at Sabha Mandap. Police force will pay guard of honour to the deity at the entrance of the temple. Then the procession will move towards Mahakal Road, Gudri Chouraha, Bakshi Bazaar, Kaharwadi and will stay at Ramghat for worship of holy Kshipra. Again the procession will move towards Ramanjukot, Modh ki Dharamshala, Kartik Chowk, Khati ka Mandir, Satyanarayan Mandir, Dhaba Road, Tanki Chouraha, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Mandir, Patni Bazaar, Gudri Bazaar and will conclude at the temple.
Bhajan Mandalis will accompany with the procession. They will not be allowed to carry any photo, replica or statue of the deity along with them.
Live telecast of the procession will be done on the website www.mahakaleshwar.nic.in. Traders should not keep their furnaces on with pan filled with oil. Devotees should not walk in opposite direction of the procession and they should stay at their place till the procession is ended. Devotees should not park vehicles in the streets.
They should not throw coins, coconuts and fruits on the way. Prasadi distribution is not allowed during the procession. Unnecessary crowd should not gather around the palanquin.
650 cops to escort Mahakal procession
SP MS Verma briefed the police officials and forces about the security and parking arrangements during the Mahakaleshwar procession to be taken out on Monday. SP informed that thousands of devotees will throng to have glance of their favourite deity. Parking and route arrangement has been scheduled by police for Monday. Traffic arriving from Indore, Dewas and Maksi Road will be diverted through Hariphatak over bridge, Vedshala, railway bridge Lalpul Badnagar Road and will be parked at Nursing Ghat main road. Traffic arriving from Badnagar, Ratlam, Agar Road will be parked at Kartik Fair ground. Entry through Simhastha Dwar, Chakra Tirtha turning, Danigate will be restricted for all vehicles except two wheelers. Public vehicle will be allowed to ferry till Lohe ka Pul from Doulatganj Square and all vehicles will be restricted for Mahakal Ghati. Around 650 policemen will be deployed for the procession.
