Indira Nagar dacoity: 3 members of Mewati gang arrested

Ujjain : The city police on Monday arrested three persons accused in Indira Nagar dacoity.

In a press conference SP Anurag Kumar revealed that the arrested criminals are members of Mewati gang, the same gang hired by Hemlata Chauhan and Yogendra Sisodia for committing dacoity at SDM’s house on July 8. The criminals were nabbed in Indore after a tip off. Police received the information that some of the Mewati gang members are meeting an absconding criminal of Indore near the same hotel they had used for accommodation previously. In a covert operation police caught hold of three dacoits while one escaped. The arrested are Ajaruddin alias Baniya and Kamaruddin of district Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Third one is a resident of Indore told his name as Vijay Verma a resident of Chatripura. One more accomplices of them managed to escape taking advantage of darkness in the area. The escaped has been identified as Deepak of Rohtak.

Police had declared bounty of Rs 15,000 on their heads. Arrested criminals are infamous for their crimes and more than 100 cases have registered against the Ajrauddin who has also been part of Salli gang. One pistol with a live cartridge was confiscated from Ajaruddin during search. A Bolero MUV bearing Haryana registration has also been seized from the accused. Whole operation was guided by ASP Rajesh Vyas while Cyber cell in charge, Yogendra Singh Sisodiya and TI Chimanganj Mandi police station, OP Mishra leaded it. SI VS Kushwaha, ASI Devendra Singh Kushwah, Head Constables, Chadrabhan Singh Chauhan and Rikesh, Constables, Raman Pal, Sunil Jha, Rahul Kushwah, Bhupendra Singh, Aadesh Tyagi and Prem Sabharwal played vital role in the operation.
