UJJAIN : The much hyped ‘administrative surgery ‘ was on Wednesday night reported to be deferred in the wake of key changes at Chief Minister’s secretariat as well as the brain storming meeting of the RSS.
Amidst reports suggesting that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan is quite perturbed over his deteriorating image in the backdrop of VYAPAM and PSC Scams, the proposed administrative shake-up has been considered as crucial, major and politically significant.
Reliable sources told this correspondent that Shivraj has made rounds of consultations with the Chief Secretary and the DGP. He is learnt to have considered the names suggested by the local people’s representatives and BJP leaders also about their opinion regarding the new postings. District minister in-charges concerned were also reportedly taken into confidence on the proposed changes.
The transfer list of IAS and IPS officers was supposed to be made public on Tuesday, but it was deferred to Wednesday due to fast developments. The list was expected to be issued on Wednesday night, but sources said that it has been put on hold.
If sources are to be believed, Shivraj’s confident officer Iqbal Singh Bains has come into the picture. He is returning to the State on August 1. He had worked in the CM’ Secretariat earlier. One more reason cited for holding back the transfer list was the beginning of RSS’ Chintan meeting at Bhopal from Thursday. It will conclude by the week end and till then Iqbal Singh Bains would be in commanding position.
So far as changes of officers on key posts in Ujjain is concerned, dramatic developments have been taken place. It is said that new officers will be posted on the posts of divisional commissioner, inspector general of police, collector, superintendent of police, municipal commissioner, etc. But, here again names have been withheld for final approval of Iqbal Singh Bains.
