Ujjain : As the final date of warning for removal of the liquor shop from the Neelganga passed, agitated women of the area resorted to the Gandhigiri on Wednesday.
Women protestors chanted bhajans in front of the liquor shop and protested peacefully in the Gandhian style. Women of the area have been demanding for removal of the liquor shop from past days. They are protesting against the indecent behavior of the people who come to consume liquor on the shop. MLA Mohan Yadav and Excise officials have visited the spot last week and assured agitated women for removal of the shop till Wednesday.
But, when shop was not removed till assured date women again started the protest. Many residents of the Neelganga area including Durga Bilotiya, Rekha Jaiswal, Seema Meena, Rekha Parihar, Rani Yadav and other women were present in the protest. Meanwhile, chaos spread for some moments at the dharna venue as a 53-year-old protester, Shantibai, got faint. She was immediately given treatment on thespot by a government doctor.
