.. OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL State Election Commissioner Dr Ajit Raizada, while interacting with media on Monday, declared the elections programme for 49 civic bodies in 15 districts in the state.
Notification will be issued on June 7 whil
e filing the nominations will be on June 14. Scrutiny will be taken up on June 15 and withdrawal of nomination will be allowed up to June 18. First phase of polling will be on June 28 while the second phase of polling will be on June 30.
The results of first phase will be declared on July 2 while on July 4, the results of second phase will be declared, Dr Raizada added.
He said, ‘Paper Ballots will be used. Elections will be held for 49 civic bodies in 15 districts. There will be 862 wards and 1237 polling booths. Nearly 7.83 lakh voters can use their franchise in the elections.’During the polls, Supreme Court had stayed the elections in the 52 civic bodies on September 14, 2009.
The ban was lifted on September 22, 2011 while Jhabua civil bodys tenure came to end in May 2011 so the total number of civic bodies for which elections were due was 53 but as process for by- election of Maheshwar Vidhan Sabha is already undergoes so the elections will be held only for 49 civil bodies of 15 districts.’Logo unveiled Dr Ajit Raizada unveiled the logo— flying two birds and rising sun.
