Ujjain : Severe questions were raised on the security arrangements of Mahakaleshwar temple on Tuesday afternoon when a middle aged farmer took his motorcycle inside the temple campus along with a bag full of fresh peas without any security check.
Farmer named Govardhanlal Patidar plucked peas from his farmland and directly came to Mahakaleshwar temple and took his black Splendor motorcycle inside the temple campus from Nirmalya Dwar (waste exit point). Farmer also took the pea bag inside the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple putting all the security measures at the bay. Unconfirmed sources of the temple informed that farmer took the bike till Naivaidya Dwar (Prasad Gate) before being stopped by the security persons.
This incident was later confirmed by the assistant temple administrator, Priti Chauhan to the Free Press. It is worth noting here that Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee (SMTMC) has banned mobile phones, coconuts and several other things due to the security reasons but this incident revealed the loop hole of the system. SMTMC staffer, Jay Singh Shinde, who was appointed at the gate, also did not check the permission letter and allowed the bag inside the campus.
When register kept at the gate was checked by this correspondent, entry of the name of the farmer and his vehicle number was also not found in the register. SMTMC administrator, RP Tiwari on the whole issue said that stern action will be taken against the person who was present on the duty at time of incident. When this matter was kept in the front of police post in-charge of the temple, Sharma he tried to shrug off from his responsibility and alleged committee staffer for the loophole. Earlier, wife of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Sadhana Singh had also entered with her car inside the temple campus by using her political clout and broke every rule of the book.
