Ujjain : A private passenger bus crushed an elderly man to death near the Chamunda Mata Square here on Sunday. The deceased, identified as Radhavallabh Joshi in his seventies was a resident of Shri Krishna Colony near Indira Nagar on Agar Road. The bus is owned by operator known as Golden Travels.
The bus driver and conductor managed to escape passengers. The Dewasgate police impounded the vehicle. Inspector KN Sharma said the septuagenarian was coming towards Dewasgate from his house. Onlookers said the chaotic traffic and bossiness of the bus driver led to the death of the elderly, who was baffled by huge bus coming to his direction. First he was hit by the bus and then came under the front wheels of it.
Public tried to ransack the bus, but police reached the spot and dispersed them. While kin of the deceased created a ruckus at the hospital blaming negligence of the administration and the hospital administration, saying his life could have been save, if he had been given first aid in time.
The Dewasgate police have registered a case under Section 304 (A) of the IPC against the bus driver.
Six year old crushed to death
An over-speeding Tata magic crushed to death a six-year- old boy near village Gunai near Ghatiya, here on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Hardik, son of Lakhan Malviya, a resident of Dewas. The incident took place when the family was going towards Ghatiya on a motorcycle. Police said, the incident took place around 8 pm of Saturday, when a speeding Tata magic hit their motorcycle from behind. The bike was toppled and Hardik was thrown away from his mother’s grip. The father and mother were also injured seriously in the incident. Police was immediately informed who rushed the injured to nearby private hospital here, where Hardik was declared dead on arrival. Lakhan and his wife Lalita are still under treatment. Ghattiya police have registered a case and are searching for the magic driver.
