Drunk man jumps into Kshipra, rescued, cops watch

Ujjain : A drunk and allegedly mentally unstable man jumped into the Kshipra was rescued here on Monday, while the cops were watching him drown. Police and rescue team were called to the Ramghat shortly after 5 pm on reports of someone jumping into the river and not resurfacing.   The man was not identified and was rescued by divers of home guards department. The victim is said to mentally unstable and did not reveal his name. Police apathy was revealed when the two cops who reached the spot, was seen watching the man drowning with curiosity. Later the cops also let go the victim without giving him any medical aid or tried to adjust him in rain basera of the government.
