Ujjain : Congress leaders and workers celebrated 71st birth anniversary of late Madhavrao Scindia with fervour on Thursday and remembered his contribution in development of the country. Several programmes were organised on the occasion by the followers of late Scindia who also served the country as union cabinet minister.
Congressmen accumulated at Madhav Jyoti Vatika located at Indira Nagar and remembered Scindia in presence of former MLA Rajendra Bharti, Narayan Singh Bhatia and other party leaders. Similarly, a grand programme was also organised jointly by Shrimant Scindia Fans Club and Hukumchand Kachway Memorial Trust at the campus of Mankamneshwar temple located at Tehsil Ghattia. Hundreds of villagers were present in the programme which was presided over by Narendra Kachway.
Block president Shailendra Singh Pawar was also present especially in the programme. Likewise, programme was organised at Awantika College in the memory of Scindia in which former MLA Rajendra Bharti was the chief guest while principal of the college Kaina Bhosle presided over the programme.
