Ujjain : Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh (BMS) celebrated its 60th foundation day at Union Office located at Ujjain Municipal Corporation, here on Thursday. Ramchandra Korat chaired the programme while State executive president Sultan Singh Shekhawat was the chief guest.
BMS district president Harishankar Sharma welcomed the guests while Suresh Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Anandilal Joshi, Omprakash Singh Bhadoria, Rashid Bhai, Madanlal Lalawat, Prahlad Yadav and Ramesh Raghuwanshi addressed the labourers. Speakers said that only 5-6 people founded BMS in Bhopal 60 years ago. It has now become the biggest union of India. Key speaker Shekhawat highlighted the points discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and told that they emphasised on making the labour laws in the interest of the labourers. All the employees should get minimum salary of Rs 15, 000, minimum provident fund pension of Rs 5000 and to regularise Anganbadi, Asha workers, MNREGS workers and daily wage earners. Shekhawat told that massive agitation movement will be launched in Delhi and the capitals of the States if their fundamental demands are not thought upon by the Government.
Labour leader Harishankar Sharma informed that workers of Vinod Bimal Mill had launched a four month long protest to fight for their rights. It became an example for the entire State. Consequently Chief Minister supported the protest and declared that the workers will be paid their dues after selling the mill land. Rajendra Sharma conducted the programme while Vijay Telang proposed the vote of thanks.
