HOSHANGABAD : The court of collector and district magistrate, Sanket Bhondave on Tuesday ordered confiscation of a number of LPG cylinders, a van, a scooter, a jeep and huge quantity of liquor in separate cases.
According to sources, 13 LPG cylinders of Indane, 4 of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and 5 LPG cylinders of the Hindustan Petroleum were recovered separately from a van bearing registration number MP 47 BC 0278 owned by Amit Patel, a resident of Harda, and action was taken against him under Essential Commodity Act, 1955, along with two Seoni Malwa residents Sandesh Kumar and Pradeep Santore.
The accused could not produce documents of the cylinders during the checking.
The Indian Oil Corporation has been instructed to take action against owner of Amol Gas Agency.
Two other cases of illegal transportation of liquor were also heard in the collector court. The excise department squad caught Mukesh, son of Chunnilal, resident of Itarsi, Pramod, son of Ravishankar, resident of Kesala and an Itarsi resident Abhishek, son of Albert, with 67.680 bulk litres of country liquor they were taking in a jeep bearing registration number MP 05 CA 1473.
The other accused of illegal liquor transportation, Baliram, Prahlad and Dinesh were arrested while taking 63 bulk litres of country liquor on a scooter (MP 05 Y 1053). All the accused were booked under section 47 A of the Excise Act.
