Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, who rose to fame with his titular role in 'Shaktimaan' and playing Bhishma in 'Mahabharat', has now invited flak from scores of internet users with his regressive comments about women wanting to have sex.
While Mukesh intended to share a message to warn men about catfishing, he ended up being trolled for his views about women.
Mukesh said in his video, “Koi bhi ladki agar kisi ladke ko kahe ‘I want to have sex with you’, wo ladki, ladki nahi hai, wo dhanda kar rahi hai. Kyunki is tarah ki nirlaj baatein koi sabhya samaj ki ladki kabhi nahi karegi (If any girl tells a boy that she wants to have sex with him, then she is not a girl, she is actually running a sex racket. Because a decent girl of a civilized society will never say such things)."
Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal issued a notice to Delhi Police cyber cell seeking registration of an FIR against Mukesh Khanna for alleged derogatory and misogynistic comments against women.
Back in 2020, Mukesh Khanna received backlash for his 'misogynistic' remarks on the MeToo Movement. He had said, that women are to be blamed for the crimes against them, leading to the rise of cases under this movement. He'd said that MeToo happens when women step out of the house wanting to equate themselves with men in every field of work.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Mukesh was reported to be in talks to turn ‘Shaktimaan’ into a three-film franchise. Shaktimaan narrates the adventures of the fictional superhero story of the same name Mukesh Khanna essayed in the blockbuster series that aired on Doordarshan from 1997 and 2005.
